Resume for freshers in India
A one-page resume that puts your education, projects and internships first is what most campus recruiters and ATS systems expect. Here's how to build one.
- Keep it to one page with clear headings
- Lead with education, then projects, internships and skills
- Run a free ATS check before campus placement applications
Free, no account needed. No tool can guarantee an ATS pass — we show you what we check and why.
What to put on a fresher resume
Name, phone, email, city and LinkedIn at the top. Then a two-line summary of the role you want, your degree with CGPA or percentage, final-year and personal projects, internships, technical skills and certifications.
Write each project as what you built and what it achieved — for example, the number of users, time saved or accuracy reached.
What to leave out
A photo, date of birth, father's name and full address are not needed and can confuse ATS parsing. Skip long objective statements and generic skills like 'hardworking'.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a fresher resume be?
One page. Recruiters screening campus applications spend seconds on each resume, so keep only what supports the role you are applying for.
Should I add my Class 10 and 12 marks?
Add Class 12 and your degree. Class 10 is optional unless the employer asks for it.
Should I add a photo or date of birth?
No. For ATS-friendly resumes keep it to name, phone, email, city and LinkedIn; photo and date of birth are not needed and can hurt parsing.
